The Hungering Portal

The End portal doesn’t simply open anymore — it hungers. Before anyone can step through, it must be fed: a ritual of rare offerings laid at the frame and witnessed by a gathering of players. Only then does the way open… to a far deadlier End.

  • Minecraft 26.2, Fabric with Fabric API
  • Works installed on the server alone (clients can be vanilla); install on clients too for the config screen.

Bring the portal what it craves and offer each one up by dropping it at the frame:

  • A Trident, a Netherite Block, a Sniffer Egg, an Enchanted Golden Apple
  • A Totem of Undying, a Beacon, a Mace
  • Sixteen Wither Roses, a Conduit, and a Zombie Head

With every offering placed and enough players present as witnesses, the portal opens. Fall short and it grows impatient — it seals itself and hands your offerings back.

Beyond the portal waits a reworked, multi-phase Ender Dragon — five phases with crystal-fueled revivals that turn the old victory lap into a real test for the group that opened the way. (The End fight is derived from RogueCraft, CC BY-SA — credit to MonoCode.)

  • The number of players required to open the portal is server-configurable, with an in-game config screen for operators.
  • Ships as a datapack-in-jar plus a mixin that suppresses the vanilla fight, so nothing double-triggers.
  • Fully localized per player from the server side, so even vanilla clients read it in their own language. English and Traditional Chinese are included.
